FREE Outdoor Concert Series in Cleveland for Summer 2012

Here is a round-up of all the great, local outdoor concert series that are starting for the summer! They start THIS WEEKEND and most run through early September. Hopefully you will take time to enjoy some of them! :)

  • Every Friday night from May 25-September 28, 6-9:30pm (gates open at 5pm)
  • Concerts feature a wide variety of genres and styles
  • Admission is FREE, with the exception of June 15th, July 20th, August 31st (these are Premium Concerts and cost $2/person or $5/Family of 3 or more)
  • Wine, beer, and food are available for purchase
  • Bring your own chair or blanket, relax, and enjoy the view!

Legacy Live at Legacy Village
  • Every Friday & Saturday night from May 25-September 15, 6-9:30pm
  • Concerts feature a wide variety of genres and styles
  • Concerts take place on the Lawn, located between California Pizza Kitchen and Bar Louie
  • Subject to change/cancellation due to weather when applicable

Music in the Park at Crocker Park

  • Every Friday & Saturday from May 25-September 1, 6-8:30pm
  • Enjoy a variety of musical talents
  • Concerts take place behind GameStop by the large grassy area (off the roundabout)

Rally in the Alley in Medina Square

  • Every Friday night starting May 25th and ending with a large event the entire Labor Day Weekend (September 1 & 2)
  • Admission is FREE with the exception of Saturday and Sunday Labor Day weekend
  • Wine, beer, spirits, and food are available for purchase

Summer Concert Series at Shaker Square
  • Every Saturday night from June 23-August 18, 6-9pm
  • Admission is FREE
  • Bring a chair or blanket, or you can listen from a restaurant patio while you enjoy dinner!
  • There is currently no concert schedule posted

  • This concert series takes place on the Green at First & Main in Hudson
  • Concerts run from July-August on Fridays and Saturdays, 7-9pm
  • Schedule and more details will be posted when they become available

FREE Fun in the Water at Splash Pads in Cleveland

There are several Splash Pads in the Greater Cleveland area, and they are a free, safe way to have fun in the water this summer! They are open for the season starting Memorial Day (when the temperature reaches 80 degrees) and close on Labor Day. These are the ones that I'm aware of, and the details are as follows:

North Ridgeville Splash Pad, located in South Central Park. This splash park is completely fenced in and good for small children. Open daily from 10am-9pm, Memorial Day to Labor Day. Click here for more details. As of this summer in 2012, this splash pad is now open only to residents of North Ridgeville.

Medina Splash Pad, located in Fred Greenwood Park on West Sturbridge Drive across from A.I. Root Middle School. Open 11am-8pm, Memorial Day to Labor Day. Click here for more details.

Lake Ridge Academy Splash Zone in Westlake, located in Crocker Park off the roundabout right behind Game Stop. Open Memorial Day to Labor Day, from 10am-4pm and again from 7pm-10pm every day (Sunday hours are 11am-4pm only). Children must wear shoes.

Old Brooklyn Splash Pad, located in Loew Park. Newly constructed in 2011. Splash pad and 3 ft. pool open daily at 12pm.

There are many other Splash Pads located in parks throughout the Cleveland area. They are open when the weather hits 80 degrees from 11am-6pm, Memorial Day thru Labor Day. The parks are listed below:

FREE Annual Engine and Power Show in Medina This Weekend

Medina County Antique Power Association 36th Annual Engine & Power Show featuring Allis Chalmers Equipment. The show is Saturday, June 18th and Sunday, June 19th starting at 9 am at the Medina County Fairgrounds. Enter off of Smith Road. Admission is FREE. There will be antique cars & trucks, antique lawn & garden equipment, antique tractors & engines. As well as arts & crafts, flea market and bake sale. On Sunday there is a non-denominational church service and a tractor pull at 10 am. Sounds like a fun event for Father's Day Weekend!

FREE Family Fun at the 4th Annual Chalk Art Fest and Music Fest in Medina, Ohio

Walk up and down the square in historic Medina, Ohio on Saturday, May 22 from 9-5pm and watch as professionals and students alike create beautiful and unique works of chalk art. The chalk masterpieces will be judged and awarded prizes, and you can even register for a spot on the square and create your own work of art! Stick around for the Medina Music Fest, which will begin on the Square at 2 pm and end at 10 pm. The fest will feature local talent performing live sets of jazz and rock & roll. Rally in the Alley, a FREE Weekly Outdoor Concert Series

Rally in the Alley is a free outdoor concert series that runs every Friday night throughout the summer, starting on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend and ending in September. Held in Medina, Ohio, right off Public Square, this event benefits a different Medina County charity every week. Food and drinks are available to accompany the fantastic entertainment, and it's a night the whole family will enjoy! The event will open every week at 4:30 pm with the opening band taking the stage at 5:30 pm. See the link below for more details and the concert schedule!
