FREE Outdoor Concert Series in Cleveland for Summer 2012

Here is a round-up of all the great, local outdoor concert series that are starting for the summer! They start THIS WEEKEND and most run through early September. Hopefully you will take time to enjoy some of them! :)

Concerts Over the Valley at Mapleside Farm

• Every Friday night from May 25-September 28, 6-9:30pm (gates open at 5pm)
• Concerts feature a wide variety of genres and styles
• Admission is FREE, with the exception of June 15th, July 20th, August 31st (these are Premium Concerts and cost $2/person or $5/Family of 3 or more)
• Wine, beer, and food are available for purchase
• Bring your own chair or blanket, relax, and enjoy the view!

Legacy Live at Legacy Village

• Every Friday & Saturday night from May 25-September 15, 6-9:30pm
• Concerts feature a wide variety of genres and styles
• Concerts take place on the Lawn, located between California Pizza Kitchen and Bar Louie

Music in the Park at Crocker Park

Rally in the Alley in Medina Square

• Every Friday night starting May 25th and ending with a large event the entire Labor Day Weekend (September 1 & 2)
• Admission is FREE with the exception of Saturday and Sunday Labor Day weekend
• Wine, beer, spirits, and food are available for purchase

Summer Concert Series at Shaker Square

• Every Saturday night from June 23-August 18, 6-9pm
• Admission is FREE
• Bring a chair or blanket, or you can listen from a restaurant patio while you enjoy dinner!

First & Main Music Nights in Hudson

• This concert series takes place on the Green at First & Main in Hudson
• Concerts run from July-August on Fridays and Saturdays, 7-9pm

FREE Family Friday Night at the Metroparks

Help kick-off our awesome amphibian weekend with a showing of The Princess and the Frog, a Walt Disney movie on Friday, March 25th from 6-8 p.m. at the North Chagrin Nature Center. This modern day retelling of the classic story The Frog Prince is great for the entire family. Join us to see if waitress Tiana and Prince Naveen break the spell and fulfill their dreams.

Watch Ratatouille This Friday Night at JB Booksellers

Join us this Friday, November 19th at 7:00pm for our free monthly family movie night as we snack on popcorn and watch Ratatouille! In this Disney animated movie a rat named Remy dreams of becoming a great French chef despite his family's wishes and the obvious problem of being a rat in a decidedly rodent-phobic profession. Rated G. Movie will be shown in the second floor meeting room at Joseph Beth Booksellers in Legacy Village.

Monsters vs. Aliens Movie at JB Booksellers

Join us for our free monthly family movie night on Friday, October 29 at 7:00PM as we snack on popcorn and watch Monsters vs. Aliens! In this animated movie a motley crew of reluctant mutant heroes is recruited to save the earth from the evil alien Gallaxhar. Rated PG. Movie is shown in the meeting room on the second floor.

Friday Movie Night at the Metroparks on October 15th

Bring your family out for a FREE animated movie classic: The Secret of NIMH. Witness the bravery of Mrs. Brisby as she saves her family from extermination by the harvest plow and meet the extraordinary rats of “NIMH”. Popcorn will be served. Doors open at 7:15 p.m.

This festival takes place from June 25-27th on Smith Road (between W 130th and Pearl) in Middleburg Heights. The 7th Annual Avon Heritage Duct Tape Festival Father's Day Weekend

"The seventh annual Avon Heritage Duct Tape Festival will kick off on June 18, 2010, just in time to celebrate Father’s Day. The festival will be an all-weekend event starting Friday at 4:00 p.m. at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Avon, Ohio. This three-day event celebrates duct tape, its enthusiasts and its wacky and fun uses. The festival also honors the history and heritage of the city that is proclaimed the “Duct Tape Capital” of the world—Avon, Ohio—the home of Duck brand duct tape. The Cleveland Shakespeare Festival Presents FREE Performances at Notre Dame College

"The Cleveland Shakespeare Festival proudly presents two free outdoor performances of "Titus Andronicus" on Friday & Saturday June 18-19th at 7:00 p.m. The Performances will take place on the steps of the Notre Dame College Administration Building, 4545 College Road. In case of rain, the performance will be held in the Performing Arts Center. The Cleveland Shakespeare Festival returns the following weekend to present two free performances of “The Merry Wives of Windsor” Friday & Saturday June 25th-26th at 7:00 p.m. These performances will also take place on the steps of the Administration Building. Concerts Over the Valley at Mapleside Farms

This concert series at Mapleside Farms takes place on select Friday nights from 6-9 pm, June through October. Food and wine tents open at 5 pm. "Grab your lawn chair and come enjoy great music, delicious food, fine wine, cold beer and an amazing sunset!" Admission is FREE except on July 16th. See the link for the concert schedule.

Westfield Mall in Strongsville, Ohio hosts a free family event on the second Friday of every month, and this month's featured event is the Mommy & Me Makeover on Friday, June 11th from 4-6 pm. Moms get to sit side by side with their child and enjoy a professional makeover while the child gets a free haircut (ages 5-10). 22nd Annual Blossom Time Balloon Festival, May 27-30th

In Chagrin Falls, Ohio, about 20 hot air balloons each morning and evening of the festival will be taking flight this weekend at the 22nd Annual Blossom Time Balloon Festival. "It is an amazing and impressive sight to see the tall, brightly colored and stately balloons launch and soar. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and a picnic, sit back and watch the show. This is a great family event, a fantastic photo opportunity, and it’s FREE! The weekend will also include the 11th annual Blossom Glow, to take place at 8:00 pm at Chagrin Falls High School, Thursday, May 27th. As dusk nears, the balloons will lay out and inflate, tethered to the ground, for a beautiful twinkling dance, sure to light up your evening! Legacy Live, a FREE Summer Concert Series, Begins Tonight!

Every weekend from now until September you can stop by Legacy Village in Lyndhurst, Ohio and enjoy some live music, family entertainment, and special events from 7-10 pm on Fridays and Saturdays and 3-6 pm on Sundays. The live music features a variety of genres, from Pop, Rock & Motown to Jazz, Swing and everything in between, so there's sure to be something for everyone to enjoy! Thomas the Train Arrives in Peninsula This Weekend

Train lovers of all ages should come down to the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad in Peninsula, Ohio on May 22, 23, 28, 29 or 30th to see a life size Thomas the Train pull into the station. If you actually want to take a ride on Thomas and meet Sir Topham Hatt it'll cost some money, and tickets can be purchased at http://www.cvsr.com/. But to just stop by, get a great look at Thomas, snap a few pictures, do some shopping at the local stores, and walk on the many miles of trails in Peninsula, it's absolutely FREE. Enjoy!

Rally in the Alley, a FREE Weekly Outdoor Concert Series

Rally in the Alley is a free outdoor concert series that runs every Friday night throughout the summer, starting on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend and ending in September. Held in Medina, Ohio, right off Public Square, this event benefits a different Medina County charity every week. Food and drinks are available to accompany the fantastic entertainment, and it's a night the whole family will enjoy!
